I graduated from the Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine with a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I am a licensed acupuncturist and herbal therapy practitioner in the state of Massachusetts, as well as board certified with the National Certification for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I have done additional training in several specialized areas of acupuncture practice, including advanced palpation techniques, trauma recovery and emotional health. I enjoy treating all types of conditions, including pain, injury recovery, chronic illness, stress, digestive disorders, and general health support.

My studies at SIOM (now known as SIEAM) included preceptorships with many well-known scholars in the acupuncture field. I was lucky enough to have both coursework and clinical supervision with Craig Mitchell (translator of Shang Han Lun, Paradigm Publications); Jason Robertson (co-author with Dr Wang Ju-Yi of Applied Channel Theory in Chinese Medicine); Stephen Brown, (senior student of and translator of several works by Shudo Denmai), among others. SIOM’s training includes Chinese language classes every semester, focusing on clinical vocabulary and translation of source texts with the aid of Wenlin translation software.

Our classroom and clinic practice drew from both Chinese and Japanese traditions. We also had training in ear acupuncture, pediatrics and shonishin, NADA protocol, sports medicine, trauma therapy, Tui-na and others. Outside of the student clinic, I also completed clinical internships in a methodone treatment center, an old age facility, and an advocacy center for East Asian immigrants.

Since graduation from SIOM, I have continued to learn under teachers such as Jason Robertson and Stephen Brown in workshops and one weekly study group. I have also developed an interest in acupuncture in global health settings, and have volunteered in Nepal, and done several trainings with Acupuncturists Without Borders.

Since moving to Massachusetts earlier this year, I have been volunteering with the Veteran’s Acupuncture Clinic (VAC) Metrowest in Framingham.

Jenny gives very compassionate and comprehensive care.  Not only did she have a thorough understanding of the medicine, but she met me where I was at with her treatments.  She is a wonderful person to partner with for your health goals and I highly recommend her.  -JP, Seattle, WA

Hi, Just letting you know how I’m doing. My arm/shoulder is mostly healed. So nice to have had your help so it didn’t become a drawn out injury. I’ll continue to use the lineament on my left foot. My right foot continues to have less numbness and tightness in the band that wraps around the middle of this foot. Thanks for your healing ability. I may not be back down your way for several months, but will make an appointment whenever I am down next. -JC, Seattle WA

The Body Electric
It was about 2am when I was awakened with shooting pains on the left side of my chest. My wife was going to call 911. I refused. The pains went on until the next day. I went to the VA clinic. The doctor felt certain that it was not my heart. I got a few more shooting pains and then called Ms Vogels, a local acupuncturist. My appointment lasted 2 hours. After an intense questionnaire and exam she inserted 13 needles in various parts of my body. The pains vanished and have never come back. I am happy to have her skills and caring personality. -JH, Onalaska WA

“I saw Jenny for a sprained ankle and again when I was dealing with a nagging cough. The acupuncture treatments with her helped my body in the recovery process and I haven’t had problems with either since then. I appreciate Jenny’s balance in being professional and personable, knowledgeable and attentive.” -ES, Berkeley CA

Jenny was intuitive and showed compassion, I will see her again! -J, Onalaska WA

Hi Jenny! Just wanted to thank you for the wonderful acupuncture treatments I have received from Newaukum Healing Arts. Having no acupuncture experience before I wasn’t sure what to expect. To be frank I was a little nervous. Under your calm capable hands my pain and tendinitis, carpal tunnels and neck issues were relieved to the point of what I would consider cured. I realize because of my job these issues will return from time to time and I am so happy I have you to get me functioning again without surgery or drugs! You are such a treasure in our community. Thank you, -TL, Onalaska, WA
